A former Moly follower tells her story
This is an interesting YouTube channel for anyone who is looking for the perspective of someone who used to buy into Moly and has seen the truth of things: It has a cool name: bestofthebothofme
It's good you were honest about your niavity as a typical opinionated young adult in your student years. I met loads of such students at my university all those years ago, who also got comfort & validation from hanging out with like minded people willing to shout about their shared views and try and recruit others to do the same. Opinionated youngsters are the susceptible ones to cults. With hindsight and maturity, I hope for your sake, that you learn to be more honest with yourself and take responsibility for the choices you made. There was all kinds of influences vying for our attention when I was young - anarchy was just one of many. I was not so opinionated or certain of my views, so I chose to focus on achieving within a career and sport. I wasted more years than you're claiming to have lost, being conventional and conforming. I regret that! But, I take responsibility for my choices. I could feel resentful to my parents and old friends who subtly coerced me into becoming another compliant zombie, but deep down, I know I chose it because it was comfortable and easy. I'm older wiser and am quite comfortable having my own opinions and views now - they do interlace and overlap with the views of others sometimes, but they are mine. I take responsibility for them, as I do for my past.
